Biden Environmental Center
The Biden Environmental Center has a rich legacy rooted in environmental education and conservation. Built in 1962 by the U.S. Navy as part of the Oceanographic Research Station at Fort Miles, it was later acquired by the State in 1996 and transformed into a hub for training, retreats, and education programs like the Residential Environmental Education at Cape Henlopen (REECH).
The center includes 3 classrooms, the largest holds 98, a non-formal gathering space and 21 renovated overnight guestrooms. ADA compliant rooms and a warming kitchen are also available, making it ideal for students or environmental organizations from across the region to gather.
